Hasanaat means 'Good Deeds' in Arabic. We support refugee youth in Tucson to find their path, secure scholarships and grants, and give back to their communities.
Hasanaat's mission is rooted in its name — to do good. We support refugee youth from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), ages 14–20, helping them navigate new challenges while unlocking scholarships, grants, and pathways that transform their futures.
As a registered 501(c)3, all of our funds are invested in student-facing services. Our CEO, executive leadership, and advisory board serve voluntarily — because they believe every student deserves the chance to thrive.
Hasanaat was born from a simple but powerful realization: while many organizations help refugees survive, far fewer are designed to help them truly thrive.
In Tucson, we saw firsthand that newly arrived refugee families were receiving essential support — housing, basic services, and initial resettlement assistance. But as time passed, a critical gap emerged. Students and families were left to navigate complex systems — education, financial aid, and career pathways — on their own, without the guidance needed to grow, succeed, and lead. We believed there had to be more.
In 2021, Hasanaat Incorporated was founded with a bold vision: not just to support refugees in getting by, but to empower them to build futures defined by opportunity, independence, and leadership. What started as a small, grassroots effort carried a much larger mission — to help shape the next generation of leaders within refugee communities.
That realization transformed our work. Hasanaat evolved into a comprehensive support system focused on educational and vocational pathways. We began guiding students through scholarship opportunities, introducing them to career paths they may not have known existed, and building partnerships with schools, training programs, and community organizations to expand access.
At the heart of our approach is goal-setting rooted in both ambition and realism. We work with students to set strong, meaningful goals — ones that challenge them, but remain achievable through dedication and support. This balance helps students build confidence, stay motivated, and see tangible progress in their journey.
For many of the students we serve, success represents something much bigger. They are often the first in their families to graduate high school, attend college, or pursue a professional career — not just a job, but a pathway to long-term stability and growth. This is how generational cycles of poverty begin to break — and how generational change begins.
Today, Hasanaat continues to grow with that same founding belief: that when refugee youth are given the right support, they don't just succeed — they transform their futures, their families, and their communities.
Every dollar is invested in student-facing services — from mentorship and goal-setting to scholarship access and educational pathways that open doors.
We help students identify and secure scholarships and grants from private and public sources — a cornerstone of everything we do.
We guide students toward the right courses, resources, and academic paths based on their unique skills, interests, and background — empowering them to perform at their best and achieve stronger GPAs.
Whether university, community college, or vocational training — we help every student find and pursue the right path for their goals and aspirations.
