The full requirements for volunteering can be found in the first page of the volunteer application. Most notably, you must be 18 years old and have no criminal record to be able to work with youth.

No, volunteers are not required to work at a specific schedule. However, those who have stable volunteer availability help with our scheduling. We try to be flexibly as possible with volunteer schedules.

Yes! We would be happy to have you bring additional volunteers to support Hasanaat’s cause. All volunteers are required to complete an application and criminal background check before they can start. This typically only takes 2 to 3 business days.

Yes. Hasanaat is a registered non-profit in the state of Arizona and is recognized as such in the Arizona Corporation Commission and the Tucson City Court. We are able to serve as a qualified organization to complete the hours needed for your traffic ticket or school requirement.

Yes. In fact, most of our tutoring opportunities begin virtually before transitioning to in-person support. This allows volunteers to build trust and meaningful relationships with students in a flexible, accessible setting before meeting face-to-face.

Your privacy matters to us.
We use a third-party company, Checkr, to conduct a basic criminal and sex offender background check. This is an insurance requirement since we work with youth under 18. Hasanaat does not receive any details from the check - only a “cleared” or “not cleared” status. A “not cleared” result can also occur due to incorrect or incomplete personal information.

We keep very limited information on file: your name, background check clearance date, volunteer hours, and emergency contact information. We do not store sensitive personal data, and we take care to protect your privacy at all times.
